Let's talk about price for a minute.
Our spring prices are:
For that price you are getting a premium plant start that is locally grown right here in Mariposa County.
We use premium, organically certified seeds and soil. Since our ultimate goal is organic certification all of our inputs are sold to us as organic.
Our process is all done by hand. We are fully licensed as a nursery stock provider, are registered with CDFA organically, and hold a certified producers certificate. We feel like to produce the best possible start for your garden we can't and won't cut any corners.
We are not selling you a start with materials picked up at the dollar store or soil we dug out of the backyard. As a result we won't be as cheap as you soon might see on marketplace or Nextdoor.
We are also not as expensive as what you'll see at a big box store here in the area or down in the valley. Before we set our spring pricing for selling direct to gardeners on our website and markets we visited a bunch of big box stores. Plant prices in 2023 are way up! $5-$6 on average. They are more expensive than us likely because they are paying freight from Southern California growers and as this winter was cooler and not as sunny as normal probably had a lot more heating and lighting expense in their giant greenhouses than they normally would.
All that said we feel really good about our spring pricing.
We are a little less than you might find at a big box store and probably a little more than you'll see posted on Facebook marketplace or someone in your neighborhood.
We hope to see you at a farmer market, popup, or farm stand soon! And we hope that the quality of what we're growing will bring you back for more.
